If you’re looking for experience in the bison industry there are not many auctioneers that come with the longevity and knowledge that Jud Seaman possesses.

Jud has more than 33 years of time invested in the bison industry, starting with being a procurer of animals to fulfill the need for meat for the processing and marketing company that he was an owner of from 1980 to 1999. He began by seeking out producers to purchase animals, became involved in industry associations to learn who the participants were, and made numerous personal relationships with those producers.

Jud has developed the ability to gather information from numerous sources and with this knowledge has a feel for which direction the industry seems to be headed. It is the relationships that have been developed over the years that allow Jud to receive the pertinent information. On several occasions, Jud has provided information on the bison industry as an expert witness and appraiser in court cases.

Seaman has been involved in the majority of live bison auctions conducted since 1994, coordinating with industry associations and private ranches to assist them in the marketing of their animals. Numerous shows and sales have benefitted from his assistance. Jud strives to do what is right for the association or individuals that he is assisting and keeps the industry benefits ahead of his benefits at all times.
