The Vermejo Park Ranch Castle Rock bulls offered in this sale will be selected from the top-performing two year old bulls from their 2020-born contemporary groups. The selection criteria will consider weaning weights, yearling weights, and ADG.

HEALTH PROTOCOL:

All auction animals have official RFID tags, were calf-hood vaccinated with a 7-way clostridial, and have been given a 4-way viral vaccine and multiple annual vaccinations for mycoplasma. Before the transfer of ownership, all animals will have been genetically tested and will not have cattle mitochondrial DNA.

 

Yearling Heifers (2021 born) will be vaccinated against Mycoplasma bovis, IBR, BVD (I & II), PI3, and BRSV, and given a dewormer.  As calves, all heifers were officially calfhood vaccinated (OCV) with RB-51 and given a 7-way clostridial. Additional vaccinations and tests at buyer’s request, risk, and expense.

 

Two-Year-Old Bred Heifers (2020 born) will be vaccinated against Mycoplasma bovis, IBR, BVD (I & II), PI3, BRSV, and given a dewormer.  As calves, all heifers were officially calfhood vaccinated (OCV) with RB-51 and given a 7-way clostridial. Guaranteed pregnant by palpation or ultrasound at the time of the auction. Additional vaccinations and tests at buyer’s request, risk, and expense.

 

2020 born Breeding Bulls (including Castle Rock, Spikebox Ranch, and Fawn Lake Ranch) were tested at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University confirmed to have bison MtDNA. All bulls will be vaccinated against Mycoplasma bovis, IBR, BVD (I & II), PI3, BRSV, and given a dewormer. As calves, all bulls were additionally given a 7-way clostridial. All Vermejo Park Castle Rock bulls will be selected from the herd and genetically tested at The College of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University, and confirmed to have bison mtDNA. A full set of nuclear microsatellite markers used for DNA identification and parentage will be provided for each Castle Rock bull. The DNA information will be available by March 1, 2023.

If you cannot adhere to all the terms and conditions, DO NOT BID! Once you bid, you will be legally bound by the following terms and conditions.

First-time buyers must bring a letter of credit from their financial institution. The letter must state a specific dollar amount on which the bank will guarantee payment. Please plan accordingly and be prepared.

Females will be sold in large lots, with the high bidder having the option to select from 5 to all in the lot, gate cut at loadout. Bidding will continue on each lot until all animals in that lot have been sold.

Bulls will be sold high bidder's choice on the 10 bulls until all bulls have been sold.


Bidding will be US DOLLARS PER HEAD (X times the number of animals in the lot), and the high bidder may take from the minimum number of animals to all in the lot unless otherwise noted. All animals are to be paid for in guaranteed funds before load out. On-site bidders will pay in full after the auction. The payment method for online buyers will be a wire transfer of funds to the seller. Payment in full must be made within 48 hours of the conclusion of the auction, no later than the end of business day on Monday, January 9, 2023. Successful online bidders will be notified after the auction via email with payment instructions and an invoice. The buyer must notify the auction company if the physical receiving address differs from your bidder registration address. This is to ensure that health paperwork is valid.

All animals are to be paid for in guaranteed funds before load out. No animals will be removed until payment arrangements have been finalized between the buyer and the seller. Animals are located at their respective ranches as outlined in the lot descriptions. Animals must be removed before January 17, 2023. Animals left past that date will incur a $20 per head per day fee until they are removed. Buyer is responsible for knowing their state import requirements before bidding. 

If additional testing is required for transport, arrangements, and payment for said testing will be worked out between the consignor and the buyer as needed and if offered. Animals left past that date will incur a $20 per head per day charge for the first thirty days until they are removed. Animals left beyond 30 days will incur a $100 per head per day fee until removed. All fees must be paid in full before animals will be loaded out. Buyers will work with each ranch manager to schedule loadout times.


Buyer must provide bank receipt of wire transfer before loadout. Ownership and complete responsibility of the sold animals transfer to the buyer upon (1) payment by the buyer, and (2) loading of animals on the buyer's trailer.
